A Guinean professional footballer dies of black fungus in Egypt

A Guinean professional football player died in Egypt of black fungus disease, one of the repercussions of the Corona virus.

Bella Club in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, one of the third-tier clubs in the Egyptian League, announced the death of its Guinean player, Mori Bangura, following a struggle with illness, during the past months, as a result of which he was forced to stay in Al-Matareya Teaching Hospital for treatment of corona and black fungus.

Samah Hamza, the player’s agent, revealed that the late player was 25 years old, and he was suffering from health repercussions that forced him to undergo medical examinations following noticing a rapid and abnormal decrease in his weight and then feeling tired, only to discover that doctors had diabetes and suspected pancreatic cancer.

She added that the player was also recently infected with Corona disease, and his condition worsened following suffering from one of the consequences of Corona, which is the black fungus, and he moved to Al-Matareya Teaching Hospital for surgery to remove the fungus that caused swelling in his face, noting that he breathed his last yesterday evening, Saturday, following he fell into a coma. .

The Guinean embassy in Cairo is scheduled to receive the player’s body today, in preparation for his burial.

The player had participated with the second-tier clubs in Egypt, where he joined Minya Samanoud and then Kafr El-Sheikh, then moved to Bella Club, and relegated with them to the third division, and the last match he played was last February, before diseases attacked him.
