Member of the House of Representatives from Florida Matt Goetz and ten other congressmen submitted a resolution calling on US President Joe Biden to stop military and financial assistance to Ukraine, and all parties to the conflict to conclude a peace agreement. This is reported Fox News.
The document says that since the conflict in Ukraine began, the United States has made a major contribution to the war effort, providing the ally with more than $110 billion in financial, military and humanitarian assistance, of which $27.4 billion has been for security needs.
The document lists the amount of equipment that Washington has provided to Kyiv since the beginning of the conflict. It also cited Pentagon officials as saying the munitions had “greatly depleted the United States’ stockpiles, weakening US preparedness in the event of conflict.”
The resolution also asserts that by providing aid, the US is inadvertently contributing to civilian casualties, and notes that the US estimates that 40,000 civilians have died in the conflict.
On January 25, the United States announced additional military assistance to Ukraine, including the supply of Abrams tanks. On February 3, Washington announced a new $2.175 billion military aid package to Ukraine.
