A great success at the II Mental Health Conference of Torrevieja Hospital

(Torrevieja, Friday October 7, 2011). The service of Psychiatry of the Department of Health of Torrevieja celebrated this morning 2nd Mental Health Conference under the theme “New approaches to mental pathology.

The meeting brought together over 115 attendees from among psychiatrists, psychologists and professionals involved in the study and diagnosis of mental healthin order to share their experiences and their work systems in the field of mental pathology.

As points out Dr. Jesús Enrique Mesones Peral, head of the psychiatric service of the Torrevieja Health Department and Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee, “the meeting has brought together professionals from our center in the field in question, highlighting the knowledge and skills acquired over the years and translating, in a professional forum, what has been its main experience in the treatment of mental illness”.

As we mentioned earlier, Dr. Isabel Lozano, assistant psychiatrist in the psychiatric service of the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in Murcia, addressed the psychodynamic treatment of obsessive structures that affect some patients. For his part, the psychiatrist Miguel García Escudero, deputy of the Altabix mental health unit in Elche, presented the latest developments in the treatment of patients with bipolar mania.

The differential diagnosis of antisocial behavior in personality disorders and its therapeutic approaches have been discussed. by Dr. Luis Valenciano, auxiliary psychiatrist at the Alberca Roman Psychiatric Hospital in Murcia. Finally, participants were able to learn more regarding the attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) from which many patients suffer throughout their lives, and which is in the hands of the famous psychiatrist Javier Correas, head of the psychiatric section of the Henares de Coslada hospital.
