“I really hope that in the next few hours or in the next half-days, we will manage to land on a global agreement”she said on RTL on Tuesday. “Negotiations are progressing well, a great offer has been made by France Télévisions and M6”did she say.

“Fifa will have a great proposal on the table, now it’s up to them”she launched. “We are not very far from an agreement”she assured, recalling that women’s sport is only the subject of 5% of broadcasts in France.

The World Cup will start on July 20 in Australia and New Zealand and no TV channel has yet acquired the broadcasting rights in France, as in other European countries, for lack of a financial agreement.

FIFA does not want to “sell off this competition”

At the end of April, Fifa had explained that it “did not intend to sell off this competition”. A few weeks ago, the director of women’s football at Fifa Sarai Bareman had estimated on RTL that the federation did not ask “not the moon”, that she didn’t ask “not the same amounts as for the Men’s World Cup” (between 65 and 70 million), adding wanting “increase the value of women’s football”.

The president of the FFF, Philippe Diallo, had spoken on Saturday of a close outcome and “announcements in the hours and days to come”.

The Minister of Sports has also “rejoiced” from broadcast of the matches of the French women’s team broadcast on France Télévisions and W9 for the next four seasons (2023-2027), as well as a new agreement until 2029 with Canal+ concerning the championship.
