The Market Intelligence system set up by the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy highlights the great attractiveness of Moroccan products internationally.

Referring to the guardianship, the first results show awareness exceeding 85% for the “Morocco Handmade” label in the main importing markets, which testifies to the effectiveness of the efforts made in terms of promotion.
In terms of global trends, jewelry and jewelry items are the most cited and searched products by netizens in major markets such as the United States, Spain, United Kingdom, Australia, Italy and Germany. Closely following, at different levels, are carpets, pottery and decorative accessories. As for Moroccan artisanal products “Morocco Handmade”, the supervisory authority assures in its press release that Moroccan Zellije stands out as the most cited and acclaimed product, whether by the professional public or the general public.

It should be emphasized that the purpose of setting up the Market Intelligence system is to improve understanding of demand and world market trends in the craft sector. This allowed an in-depth analysis of the opinions and comments of customers who have purchased Moroccan handicraft products on the world’s largest e-commerce platforms. “This system is an essential tool that we use to follow the evolution of demand and global trends. Our goal is to enable craftsmen to continuously improve their products, to strengthen the attractiveness of our crafts, better meet the expectations of international customers and increase our exports,” said Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Crafts Tourism. and the social and solidarity economy. And to add “We have ensured that it is inclusive, accessible to all craftsmen, whether individuals or companies”.

The results of this first analysis covered more than 2,500 verified purchases. They reveal an overall satisfaction rate of 89%. Intrinsic characteristics such as “heritage and artistic value” as well as design obtain the highest percentages of positive mentions, reaching 100% and 96% respectively. They are closely followed by delivery times and the quality of raw materials (92%), colors (91%), product quality (87%), and price (84%). At the same time, the tools put in place make it possible to monitor and analyze the impact of communication actions carried out on digital channels. The latter made it possible to reach, between April 1 and June 30, 2023, 3 million people in Morocco, more than 1.5 million people in Europe and around 1 million people in North America.
