Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – West Ham coach David Moyes has praised Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, noting that it is difficult to accept the idea of renewing his contract with Liverpool FC.
David Moyes told the “Remontada” program on Al-Mehwar channel: “It is natural that the negotiations between Mohamed Salah and Liverpool will take a long time, in order to renew the contract.”
Moyes added: “Mohamed Salah is a great and influential player at Liverpool FC.”
David Moyes added: “As a former coach of Everton and Manchester United, it is difficult for me to accept the renewal of Salah’s contract with Liverpool.”
And Moyes added: “But of course he is a great and very influential player with his team, it is good for him to stay, and it is good for Liverpool to keep him.”
David Moyes spoke of another Egyptian, Ibrahim El-Said, who spent a short period of time under him at Everton in 2003.
“I remember Ibrahim Saeed, but he didn’t spend much time at Everton while I was in charge, but joining Everton means he was a good player,” Moyes said.
It is noteworthy that Mohamed Salah renewed his contract with Liverpool, weeks ago, to continue with the Reds, which he joined in 2017.
Salah played 254 games with Liverpool in various competitions, during which he scored 158 goals and assisted 58 others.
