A gigantic sculpture of M. Gaubos “Aukštynkojis” was erected in Pakruoj’s estate Culture

“Martynas Gaubas is a contemporary Lithuanian sculptor, famous for his creativity and unique approach to the art of sculpture. His works are known for their originality, humor and unexpected approach to everyday objects and people. We are happy that we will be able to delight the visitors of the manor with another sculpture created by him”, said the chancellor of the manor Giedrius Klimkevičius.

This gigantic sculpture of legs was moved to the Kruojas River, which flows near the mansion, and the mechanism enabled the sculptures to rotate in the water, creating the impression of watching a performance of synchronized swimming dancers.

“An important element of the composition is the water itself, which forms additional shades and atmosphere of the composition. The water not only reflects the forms of the sculpture, but also incorporates movement and the play of light into the overall whole of the work. It is complemented by the environment of the manor itself, which provides a historical and cultural context. The architecture of the manor and the surrounding landscapes create a seamless background in which the sculpture becomes an organic part,” said Martynas Gaubas, the author of the sculpture.

Finally, we decided to name the sculpture “Aukštynkojis”, said the festival organizers.
