This weekend, the Argentine journalist Jorge Lanata and the lawyer Elba Marcovecchio got married in the Exaltación de la Cruz sector, located in Buenos Aires, in an event that was organized by them and was attended by regarding 150 guests from the world of politics and entertainment, despite the fact that initially they only planned to receive 50.
According to the newspaper La Nación of that country, among the names present on the list were those of Rodolfo Barili, Eduardo Feinmann, Luciana Geuna and Diego Leuco, in addition to those of former president Mauricio Macri and his wife, Juliana Awada.
“We all get along very well, the Elba boys are a sweetheart. For me it is something very good, but I did not expect it at all, “said the journalist’s youngest daughter, Lola Lanata, who arrived at the event accompanied by her mother, Sara Stuart Brown,” I was the first to know. My dad asked me if I thought he was okay and I told him yes, if he wanted to do it, I was going to support him”.
The latter stated that she has “very nice memories” of the times when she and the writer were still a couple and even detailed that “they are super close” and that they regularly meet for dinner “all together”.
For his part, Marcovecchio recounted in an interview with the medium Hello! Argentina that “the proposal was surprising, because we had never talked regarding getting married. Our relationship is so beautiful and so full of happiness that marriage was not an issue.
Even so, both made the decision and celebrated the marital agreement in a religious framework.
“For me it is very important to get married in front of God, it is a step that I would not take with anyone. For Jorge it is his first time in the Church and knowing how important it is for me, it was his idea,” said the lawyer, “that he has contemplated it moves me, it seems to me an enormous gesture of love.”
According to information gathered by La Nación, songs like “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica were played at the celebration, which was selected by Macovecchio, as well as titles by artists such as pop singer Ed Sheeran and cellist Pau Casals, which were danced exclusively for the couple.
