IThese are the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), the Democratic Labor Organization (ODT) and the Federation of Democratic Trade Unions (FSD). These three central trade unions have called for a general strike in the public sector on Monday 20 June. The objective being to protest once morest rising prices and to “to commemorate the anniversary of the movement of June 20, 1981« , also known as the “Bread Riots”.
According to a joint press release, these three organizations warn the government whose policy “removes the gains of the working class and its right to a decent standard of living”holding the Executive responsible for “harm to social stability”.
Thus, these unions are protesting once morest the “regression of the living conditions of the poor classes of society and the continuous increases in the prices of hydrocarbons and consumer products”notably the prices of food products, including flour, sugar and vegetable oils.
For the three unions, the government’s measures “harm the food security of Moroccans”.
Consequently, the CGT, the ODT and the FSD call on the government to put an end to this situation by increasing salaries and retirement allowances, according to the rate of inflation recorded at the national level.
