A short, but violent tornado hit several municipalities in the Laurentians last night, tearing off the roofs of residences in its path.
“It’s total chaos, all the trees are cut,” observes Mathieu Lussier, of Xtrem Chase Quebec, a Quebec tornado hunting team.
According to his observation, the meteorological phenomenon, which was relatively stationary, would have come to life in the late afternoon.
The tornado would have left Val-Morin, to make its way to Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, and finally reach Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard.
This is also where the damage was massively reported, at least on social networks.

Roof ripped off
The violence of the whirlwind was such that the roof of at least one house was torn off, while other images suggest that properties suffered considerable damage.
A lady, for example, had to leave her home urgently as the tornado approached. “She brushed against it,” reports Mathieu Lussier.
Trees also fell on power lines. However, only 35 homes, out of some 4,800 in the Laurentians, were without power around 11 p.m.
The Sûreté du Québec had not identified any injuries after the passage of the tornado.
Remember that Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm watches for several regions of the province, including Montreal and Quebec.
Already yesterday, hail fell in Mont-Tremblant. Chunks of ice the size of golf balls even punctured the window of a vehicle.
