He pointed out that real concern spread among foreign diplomats, including talks regarding the possible resignation of Qais Saeed, due to the medical condition, and such a scenario, which was not confirmed by a reliable source, would pose a serious institutional problem, according to the new constitution that was adopted last year. .
The website said that, according to the constitution, the Constitutional Court, which was not established in the first place, will be tasked with observing the inability of the president to perform his duties.
Opponents reveal
Tunisian opposition figures revealed the deterioration of President Qais Saeed’s health, which explains his unusual absence from any appearance.
Former MP, Sufyan Al-Makhloufi, said that he decided to “break the barrier of silence, fear, and false morals,” adding in a post on Facebook: “We have been waiting for days for the courage of the press to reveal to us what all tongues are circulating in vain… and everyone drowned in insinuations without declaring.”
He added, “I personally decided to break the barrier of hypocrisy and silence, and disclose the information that is being circulated, and its validity, of course, remains for verification: Qais Saeed suffered from a severe health condition resulting from a serious heart attack of the type of atrial fibrillation, in addition to, of course, shortness of breath and a lack of oxygen.”
According to Al-Makhloufi, “this type of heart injury leaves a high limitation in returning to normal life, in addition to a prolonged recovery period to obtain relative and low stability as well.”
While the former Foreign Minister, Rafik Abdel Salam, quoted sources as saying that President Saeed is currently in the military hospital due to a heart attack, and it seems that the frequent smoking and convulsions have done their job, according to his description.
“neglect of the constitution”
Politician and human rights activist Abd al-Wahhab al-Hani touched on Saeed’s absence, describing the event as a “crisis,” adding that “the minor absence of the President of the Republic comes in the context of a bout of acute, overlapping and complex crises (political, diplomatic, economic, social, and financial), and at a time when world leaders are racing to publicly declare their positions.” from the Tunisian crisis.
Analyst Adnan Monaser accused President Said of neglecting and ignoring the constitution, saying: “The president of the republic is not a person responsible for himself only, until he withdraws and decides not to appear because of the increased pressure, or because he has no solutions to a crisis.”
He added, “The responsible president of the republic is the one who says that he does not have a solution, when he does not have a solution. I have no doubt that the man does not have any solution to any problem, and that he deliberately constantly created a new problem whenever he was unable to solve an old problem, but reclusiveness takes things to a different level.” Another level is the level of moral responsibility. Integrity is the basis of this moral responsibility.”
In turn, political activist and journalist Mohamed Abbou said, “Saeed drew up a document he called a constitution in which it stipulated that in the event of a final vacancy, the head of the Constitutional Court assumes the presidency of the state between 45 and 90 days, then he did not appoint the members of the Constitutional Court despite the ease of the process for him.”
