A French complaint to “FIFA” over the Tunisia match

The French Football Federation announced that it had filed a complaint with the International Federation “FIFA” following the equalizing goal was canceled in the last moments by Antoine Griezmann, following the video referee reviewed the incident following the final whistle during the confrontation with Tunisia on Wednesday.

Griezmann hit the ball into the net following eight minutes of stoppage time, but the referee canceled the goal because the striker was in an offside position when Aurelien Choameni passed the ball into the penalty area at the start of the attack.

A Tunisian defender touched the ball following that and then it reached Griezmann, who was not in an offside position in this shot, but the cancellation of the goal gave Tunisia a 1-0 victory in a result that did not affect qualification.

The French Federation said in a statement: We are filing a complaint following Antoine Griezmann’s goal was incorrectly canceled from our point of view. This complaint must be submitted within 24 hours following the final whistle.

Tunisia won 1-0 and was eliminated from the World Cup, while France topped Group D and reached the last 16, and will face Poland on Sunday.

The French Federation did not specify whether the complaint was related to the cancellation of the goal itself or because it was canceled following the final whistle.
