The French company “Lacoste” angered Moroccans on social media, following issuing men’s shirts bearing an insulting print to the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

The company recently released its “Polo” shirts for the summer of 2023, in which the world map appears horizontally, with its intention to publish the map of Morocco cut off from its southern regions.

Soon, pictures of these shirts spread on social networking sites in Morocco, where they were reported by a number of “Facebook” pages, while activists considered that the step taken by this company had incurred great losses.

And the pioneers of social networking sites highlighted in separate publications and comments that the company’s action on this behavior is not appropriate for its global brand, which a large number of Moroccans accept to buy its products, and it is an act that does not calculate the consequences.

On the other hand, other activists called for a boycott of “Lacoste”, which owns a group of large stores in Morocco, and not to buy its products that harm the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

It should be noted that the French company’s introduction of these controversial shirts comes in light of the unprecedented tension in relations between Rabat and Paris, and the latter’s adoption of a number of behaviors harmful to the interests of Moroccans, the latest of which was the visa crisis.
