Two people died in the bus accident on the E19 motorway in Sint-Job-in-‘t-Goor (Brecht, province of Antwerp) on Sunday, the federal police confirmed.
It is a bus registered in France, but the nationalities of the victims are not yet known. Several people were also seriously injured.
The Flemish Mobility Center (Vlaams Verkeerscentrum) asks users to avoid the area. For long distances in the direction of Breda or Rotterdam, it is advisable to take the A12 beyond Bergen-op-Zoom.
On the E19, all traffic to the Netherlands must leave the motorway and follow a local detour to the Sint-Job-in-‘t-Goor slip road. However, this emergency route is already very busy.
