More than sixty schools across Quebec will take part in this fourth edition of the “Down with Eating Disorders” campaign.OR (Anorexia and Bulimia Quebec). This movement aims to raise awareness among young people and start a discussion about the impact of eating disorders.

Since the start of the pandemic, eating disorders have been on the rise and ANEB hopes to be able to educate and break the taboos and myths surrounding these mental illnesses. “We are very touched by the incredible mobilization of the schools. By supporting the movement, schools will be able to stimulate discussion on subjects that directly affect young people,” says Josée Champagne, Executive Director of ANEB.

ANEB and sports

It’s a surprise to no one, high level sport can sometimes lead to eating disorders and it is for this reason that ANEB is delighted to have the support of the Quebec Athlete of Excellence Foundation (FAEQ) for a second consecutive year. For the 2022 edition of Down with Eating Disorders, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the U18AAA Hockey League du Québec are committed to supporting the cause. A great step towards the recognition of mental health disorders in the world of sport.

To show your support for the campaign, don’t forget to post a photo on your social networks of your favorite socks with the hashtag #ABASLESTA and tag @anebquebec. To learn more about the campaign, visit their website here.
