Counselor Ali Al Shaer Al Dhaheri, Director of the Judicial Inspection Department – Member of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy, inaugurated yesterday the international forum through visual communication technology, organized by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department represented by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy, entitled “Administrative Judiciary and Human Rights in Urban Planning”, which was organized by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. .
The forum was attended by Dr. Sami Al-Toukhi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Academy, a number of officials, legal advisors, lawyers, and a group of intellectuals and thinkers. Counselor Mansour Al Marzouqi, President of the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court and Director of the International Forum, stressed the importance of the Forum, given the need for it by societies, in addition to reviewing the expertise and experience of the judges involved in everything related to administrative justice and human rights in urban planning.
Judge Sheikh Ibrahim bin Suleiman Al-Rasheed, former president of the Supreme Court of the Board of Grievances in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressed the importance of the forum, which targets the role of the judiciary, members of the public prosecution, government advisors, judicial officers, policemen, lawyers, experts, urban planning engineers, municipalities, security and security officials, contractors, and security personnel. and all those concerned with urban planning and management, university professors and all those concerned with human rights. Then he talked regarding the images of rulings in the Board of Grievances, and the role of the administrative judiciary in leaving a positive impact on the life of the individual.
For her part, US Judge Colin O’Toole, Attorney General of Ashtabula District and former judge in the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, addressed the importance of the forum, given the new challenges facing cities in the world that they have not seen before. Despite the fact that it extends over only 2% of the land area, it consumes 60% of energy, emits 75% of greenhouse gas emissions and produces 70% of waste on a global scale. This represents a factor of pressure on the urban structure and resources that include: water, transportation, electrical energy, which is a matter that increases the influence of natural disasters and climatic change from here the importance of legal frameworks to organize the urban planning of cities and to re -regenerate the human being A sustainable and clean environment. In turn, Judge Majid Al-Qahtani of the Abu Dhabi Criminal Court stressed that urban development requires joint efforts in life, pointing out that urban planning has an impact and role in preventing the occurrence of crime represented in transport and traffic violations, including: violations of speeding, violations related to heavy vehicles and violations related to wrong standing.
Al-Qahtani also touched on the violations of the municipality that are affected by urban planning, such as the exploitation of the corridors separating the residential plots, the implementation of agricultural work outside the approved boundaries of the land, and standing or sitting in a way that impedes the freedom of others. The lack of development in any country may cause poverty and illiteracy and thus be a cause for the spread of crimes. Inadequate infrastructure is also considered not to allow emergency services to respond quickly and effectively in the event of an accident.
