Will the Clasico be David Hubert’s last match as head coach of Anderlecht? Many analysts are already suggesting keeping the 36-year-old interim at least until the end of the season. Aad de Mos is one of them.

Coach of Anderlecht from 1989 to 1992, De Mos noted that David Hubert does a good job. He watched the match against Real Sociedad carefully and although the Spaniards fielded a B team, he saw that Hubert was making the right choices.

For the Dutchman, it is therefore obvious that Hubert should remain in office. “Sometimes the solution is close. Nicky Hayen at Club Brugge is an example. And I at Ajax at the time didn’t have any experience either. You have to start one day if you have the qualities, aren’t they?”

Anderlecht are still weighing the pros and cons

But De Mos also knows that Jesper Fredberg continues to look for a new figurehead. Mark van Bommel has already declined the offer. “If Fredberg opts for a character like Van Bommel, he will remain safe in case of failure, while he would be blamed if things do not go well with Hubert.”

“That’s how it works. I read what the players are saying and I have a good feeling about this boy. I would think it’s very fair for Hubert to become the new coach of Anderlecht. We either have him or we don’t It’s not in the blood, is it?” he continues.

De Mos also has advice for Hubert regarding team composition: “I wouldn’t touch too much in midfield and as a center forward I would rather choose Luis Vazquez. Kasper Dolberg is not a nine and a half as they sometimes say, but a 9. And currently, that is not enough.”
