A former 3rd choice in total free as the air

The Chicago Blackhawks continue to facelift. After trading Alex DeBrincat and Kirby Dach, they will let go of another talented young player in Dylan Strome.

Indeed, it seems that the staff of the formation of Illinois will not submit a qualifying offer to the center player, who would thus become a free agent without compensation.

At least that’s what reputable The Athletic Chicago journalist Mark Lazerus reports.

Strome, 25, has just collected 48 points, including 22 goals, in 69 games.

The Mississauga, Ont., native was selected third overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2015 draft.

The Coyotes later traded him to the Hawks for Nick Schmaltz.

The free agent market will open on July 13.
