Last week, we revealed to you that this actress from the film saga Harry Potter took up the defense of J.K. Rowling, the creator of the original work, calling on fans to calm down. Because indeed, the British writer is very often the object of many controversieswhich thus led him to indulge in a recent podcast series. Podcasts in which you can also find other revelations unexpected, and in particular one in particular concerning this unlikely exchange with some fans of his universe.

Since 2020, Rowling has regularly found himself in the headlines by arousing various controversies, in particular following some of his remarks deemed transphobic. Controversies which continue to be talked regarding even today, and which have thus brought the British novelist recently confided in an audio documentary, entitled The Witch Trials of JK Rowling.
This series of podcasts then returns to many different aspects of Rowling’s life, but also relates to the famous controversies that have surrounded her for several years already, explaining in particular that the fans would have deeply misunderstood her point of view according to her. Separately, Rowling also made some more unexpected revelationsreturning in particular to the abusive relationship she had with her ex-husband, Jorge Arantes, then bringing the latter to speak in turn.
And among the other revelations that can be found in The Witch Trials of JK Rowling, the writer also tells an anecdote regarding a very special meeting she had with her fans. For that, you have to go back to the end of the 1990s, when Rowling was writing the fourth novel in the sagato know Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Faced with the rise in popularity of her works, Rowling will decide out of curiosity to join a forum of fans ofHarry Potterby choosing a pseudonym that had nothing to do with the universe of the saga and this, in order to remain anonymous. She will then explain that following having shared a “very banal” opinion on the work, users attacked her, “making it clear to her to clear”. In particular, she was told that she was not used to this universe, and that she was “clearly an idiot who knows nothing at all”. Rowling continues:
[Donc] I left. And I thought to myself that I’ve written three and a half books where bullying is a subject that I tackle from the first page, where harassment and authoritarian behavior are shown to be among the worst evils of humanity, yet look what just happened, from these people who claim to be such fans of this franchise.
I did not care. I’m a pretty tough person. But what if I had been a 12-year-old child, excited to enter this forum, and immediately and ardently criticized for not belonging?
“They fired someone just because they were new.” I found it very interesting that you’re passionate regarding these books and yet over the course of your life you behave in a way that I portray as one of the worst and stupidest human behaviors.
