Asus Zenbook 17 Fold Oled: a multifunction screen

A true centerpiece of the device, the screen of the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold Oled is a 17.3-inch Oled panel – nearly 44 cm – 60 Hz in 4:3 format, with a definition of 2,560 x 1920 pixels. This screen – touch and more – can fold into two equal parts of 12.5 inches, then with a definition of 1,920 x 1,280 pixels. It features a maximum brightness of 500 nits and full spectrum support for DCI-P3, HDR (High Dynamic Range) Dolby Vision has Dolby Atmos certification – which makes it a pretty good display. It boasts a very short gray-to-gray response time – the time spent for a transition between two gray levels – of just 0.02 ms, which promises great responsiveness.

Thanks to its foldable screen, the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold Oled can be used as a tablet or a book, be folded and serve as a laptop thanks to its touch keyboard, or be paired with a keyboard like a real PC. Asus is also planning to include an Asus ErgoSense Bluetooth touchpad and keyboard, which can attach to the bottom of the screen or be used separately as a wireless keyboard – which then makes it possible to use the entire device. ‘screen. Asus Zenbook 17 Fold Oled: an enduring and mobile PC

In terms of its capabilities, the Asus Znbook 17 Fold Oled has an Intel Core i7-1250U processor – the low-power version of the Intel Core i7, with 10 cores and 12 threads –, 16 GB of random access memory (Ram) and 1 TB of SSD storage. On the graphics card side, the device relies on a beautiful and powerful Intel Iris Xe. Everything is powered by a 75 Wh fast-charging battery, rechargeable via a 65 W USB-C block. Obviously, the computer will be more enduring when folded. Asus promises up to 9.5 hours in 12.5-inch laptop mode, and up to 8.5 hours in 17.3-inch desktop mode. Enough to have a good day at work.

This type of device must have good autonomy, but also satisfactory mobility. On this side, the Zenbook 17 Fold Oled is quite compact, with a thickness of 17.4 mm, for a weight of 1.6 kg, – a little more than an ultraportable PC. With the keyboard, the weight increases to 1.99 kg, according to Asus. The Zenbook Fold 17 Oled also has two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 3.5 mm jack, and Wi-Fi 6E. Finally, it features four Harman Kardon speakers, and a webcam classic 5 megapixel, with a secondary infrared sensor for facial recognition.

We will have to wait a little longer before we can get the Zenbook Fold 17 Oled ! Asus announces that it will only be marketed from the fourth half of 2022, without giving a precise date. As expected, this device is not accessible to everyone, for the modest price of 3,999 euros.
