CULTURE. Axart invites the public to attend the opening of the first solo exhibition by artist Dan Blanchette at the distribution center on August 4 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Through this exhibition, the artist wishes to encourage and praise self-fulfillment by representing various fictional or real characters who fulfill themselves at some point in their personal journey.
The artist mainly represents sports personalities, including Jean Béliveau, Mike Bossy, Jaromir Jagr, Guy Lafleur, Henri Richard, Patrick Roy. These creations are all autographed.
Dan Blanchette creates works of all sizes in which he summons several artistic influences such as dripping, cubism or graffiti. On his canvases painted in acrylic, he does not hesitate to mix techniques, to play with color contrasts, lines and shapes, going so far as to use computer-drawn collages.
The exhibition is presented from August 2 to 28.
Note that Dan Blanchette is a painter established in Saint-Lucien since 2014. He is originally from Val-d’Or. Graduated with a master’s degree in visual arts and a bachelor’s degree in visual arts education, he has long taught visual arts in high school and 3D animation in CEGEP. (EL)
