According to the leaks, the foldable OnePlus will be nearly identical to the OPPO Find N.
Famous smartphone news leaker Yogesh Brar claims that OnePlus is working on a new flagship: a foldable smartphone. The model might draw much inspiration from Find N, un petit smartphone pliable launched earlier this year by OnePlus’ parent brand, OPPO. In fact, there’s a good chance that OnePlus will simply rebrand the OPPO Find N and market it as its first foldable phone.
Foldable phones have become increasingly popular over the years, thanks in large part to devices such as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, as well as Huawei’s Mate X2. Other noteworthy foldable devices like the Oppo Find N have also been released over the past year, while many more like the Vivo X Fold and Huawei Mate X3 are reportedly in the works.
OPPO FIND N has already convinced
The Find N is widely recognized as one of the best foldable devices on the market. It’s, thanks to its excellent design and good design. The phone is powered by the best chip available from the manufacturer for the previous generation: the Snapdragon 888 from Qualcomm. It also has a maximum of 12GB of RAM and a colossal 512GB of storage. In terms of displays, the Oppo Find N uses a foldable 7.1-inch 1920 x 1792 LTPO AMOLED panel as a 5.49-inch 1972 x 988 AMOLED cover display.
Unfortunately, the model has so far been reserved for the Chinese market, the original basis of the OPPO brand. OPPO is part of BBK’s huge collection of brands. It also owns Vivo, Realme, iQOO and OnePlus which interests us here. It wouldn’t be the first time that material has been transferred from one brand to another. In the case of OnePlus, its flagship smartphones have traditionally been variants of the OPPO Find R series.
A fully available market sector
In the USA, very few foldable models have been marketed so far. Thus, a quality bill phone, but at a much more affordable price than the leader Samsung continues to bet on foldable smartphones. OnePlus would thus almost benefit from a market of its own.
Previously, in 2020, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had expressed disinterest in foldable phonessaying the company didn’t think they were worth investing in.
“We did not find that the significant benefit or value provided [par un modèle pliable] compensated theshortcomings or disadvantages of the current state of technology ».
Now, following two years, more developed technology and still such a free place in the market, it wouldn’t be surprising if he changed his mind.
