a first in your favorite stores, the “Super List” is coming

To what extent do supermarkets enable us to eat sustainably? This is a question that many consumers ask and which today is impossible to answer objectively. But it will soon be possible. Indeed, a new comparative study carried out by the Questionmark Foundation with the support of Rikolto and Test Achats, and in collaboration with BOS+, IEW, Ecoconso, FoodWIN and Bond Beter Leefmilieu, will attempt to answer this question.

In concrete terms, the various organizations will take a close interest in Colruyt, Delhaize, Carrefour, Aldi and Lidl. and will examine the extent to which these brands strive to reduce the sale of animal proteins, to opt for products from agriculture that respects nature and to fight once morest deforestation and food waste. The results will be communicated in November.

A “Super List” will then be determined: “It will provide an overview of the extent to which supermarkets are already playing their role today. Furthermore, the study will also provide concrete recommendations that supermarkets and policy makers can use to improve,” explained Julie Frère, spokesperson for Test Achats.
