Midway through the first frame, Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho managed to puck the puck off Bruins forward David Pastrnak. The Finn then headed alone past goalkeeper Linus Ullmark, whom he beat with a sharp shot.
The Carolina team added some during the middle period. On the power play, veteran Paul Stastny grabbed a loose puck. The one who was born in Quebec in 1985 has blackened the score sheet for the fourth time this season.
Hurricanes forwards Seth Jarvis and Jordan each added to their team’s win.
“We knew that this team [les Bruins] is the creme de la creme and they beat everyone. They played last night [samedi] and we try to catch them [au classement]. We were at home, in front of a good crowd. I think that had an impact on him. We deserved that one,” said head coach Rod Brind’Amour, whose comments were reported by the National League website.
The only moment of celebration for the Bruins came in the third period. Taylor Hall netted his 15th goal this season on assists Pavel Zacha and Charlie McAvoy. After the game, Ullmark was keen to take the blame.
“In a second game in two nights, the goaltender has to make the saves,” he said. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do that.”
The Massachusetts team will play its next meeting on the road, it will be in Toronto to face the Maple Leafs on Wednesday. The formation of the Queen City is currently deprived of the services of the excellent Auston Matthews. The striker will be sidelined for three weeks with a knee injury.
The Brind’Amour men will receive a visit from the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday. The Californian club has not suffered defeat in its last four games.
