A fire broke out on Sunday shortly before 6 pm in an approximately 50 square meter summer house on Grønsiskevej in northern Sæby.
North Jutland Emergency Services in Sæby moved with a sprayer and a tanker, and it quickly became clear to the incident leader that an additional tanker was needed, which was called from Frederikshavn.
The report regarding the fire came via 112 at 17.52.
– The fire apparently started under the floor of the house. And when we got out here, the fire had reached the siding of the summer house, explains incident leader Bo Isaksen, North Jutland Emergency Services.
However, the firemen managed to get the fire under control, so the incident leader believes that it is possible to save parts of the summer house.
– We have had to drill holes in the floor and use a special sprayer that can spray water down under the floor towards the source of the fire. In this way, we avoid too much damage, and I believe that the summer house can be restored if the owner wants it, says Bo Isaksen.
The house was occupied when the fire broke out, but as soon as they might smell the smoke, they left the house so that no one came, anything else regarding the fire.
The operation leader had to call in extra personnel from Frederikshavn, because several of his people from Sæby had worked so long in the smoke and emptied several oxygen cylinders that they needed to be replaced.
At 8 p.m., Bo Isaksen expected that there would be work for up to a few more hours before the firefighters might leave the fire scene.
