A fine of 100,000 euros was imposed on the 31-year-old who killed stray animals

According to the relevant announcement of EL.AS, a case file was filed against him for violation of the legislation on the welfare of companion animals, but also a separate case file for violation of the laws on drugs and on weapons.

In particular, on Monday night, the perpetrator, using a sharp object, killed a cat, while a dog had been killed before, which was found dead at midnight on September 25.

Police officers located him on the afternoon of Wednesday 2/10 and proceeded to confiscate the following items:

  1. The clothes he was wearing when he killed the cat.
  2. Nylon package with a quantity of raw cannabis, weighing 2.16 grams.
  3. A folding knife
  4. Another knife

In addition, during September 2024, the perpetrator, acting in the same way (modus operandi), killed four more cats and injured three more with a sharp object, in the central mast of the city of Volos.

An administrative fine of 100,000 euros was imposed on him.

The file filed by the Police Department of Volos, for the cases of killing and injury of stray pets, will be submitted to the Criminal Prosecutor of Volos.

The 31-year-old is known to the Police, having been arrested in the past for theft and small amounts of narcotics, while information indicates that he is facing psychiatric problems.
