A fifth hotel in the Marc Coucke galaxy: already the third establishment acquired this year by the businessman

Since the sale of Omega Pharma in 2014 to the American-Israeli giant Perigo for the “modest sum” of 3.8 billion euros, Marc Coucke has diversified impressively in business in Belgium.

The former president of Ostend has thus offered himself Sporting Anderlecht, significant shares in many companies linked to the medical, energy or other world, but it is also in tourism that he places his balls. From Durbuy to Pairi Daiza via the coast: the businessman is present throughout the country. By buying La Petite Merveille, in Durbuy, Marc Coucke has almost bought himself the keys to the city since he now owns many establishments there. It was also in Durbuy that he acquired a taste for the hotel business, an area in which he refused to invest because he did not consider it profitable.

The success of the Sanglier des Ardennes proved to him just the opposite and encouraged him to invest in other establishments, sometimes becoming co-owner or 100% owner. He thus set his sights on La Réserve (Knokke) last summer and Le Grenier des Grottes (near the caves of Han) last winter. Last summer, it was in Blankenberge that he also invested by buying 49% of the shares of the Het Witte Paard establishment, a true temple of laughter on our coast. Since then, the number of performances there has increased considerably and a review has even been staged during the winter season. Like the big cabarets, they also serve a menu during the show. For the show this Saturday, May 7, count €89 per seat (menu included) and €119 for the show + menu-drinks formula.
