Four years ago, Hugo Dewulf decided to change his life by leaving Belgium for the Spanish sun. The man’s desire was to get closer to his son and son-in-law who lived in Alicante. A great adventure which, however, tragically ended this month.
At the beginning of August, it’s worry. Hugo Dewulf does not return from his scooter ride to fetch cigarettes. Hours pass and the search begins. For days, a major mobilization is taking place to find the 81-year-old man. Without success. Today, several weeks later, the family received the news they dreaded the most.
As confirmed by Het Laatste Nieuws, Hugo’s body was found on Thursday by a local farmer, 9 km from his town of residence. The victim was under a tree, his scooter not far away. So far, no outward signs of violence have been found. “We don’t know what happened yet,” the family said simply.
