Honey is often considered a super food because of its many health benefits. Honey contains probiotics, which are beneficial bacteria for the health of the microbiota; a healthy microbiota helping to strengthen the body’s immune and protective functions! Clearly, honey has many virtues!
To get the year off to a good start and refuel while fighting the viruses circulating in this cold period, consuming honey is therefore advisable. However, it is important to enjoy it at room temperature or slightly warm in order to take full advantage of its benefits.
Why shouldn’t honey be added to a hot infusion?
In effect, when heated to high temperatures, honey loses many important nutrients, such as enzymes, minerals and other nutrients. Only its sugar content remains unchanged, which is not ideal… It is therefore preferable to avoid putting honey in your tea or herbal tea, in order to take full advantage of its benefits by tasting it differently.
