Godolphin’s horses, under the supervision of coach James Cummings, achieved a wonderful “double”, at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, Australia, through the pony “Anamo”, the champion of the Winx Stakes, and the filly, “Zapatio”, the winner of the Laurel Oak Toy Show Quality race.
“Anamu”, led by James MacDonald, succeeded in opening his season by winning the 1400-meter Winks Stakes title in the first category, becoming the second colt to win the first category, at the age of two, three and four, in 100 years.
The son of the stallion “Street Boss” managed to win the comfortable victory, by a length and three quarters of the length, over the second-placed “Vangel”, to complete four victories in the first category, as he won the two-year-old Angeles Cyrus Producer, then the Cleveland Gents race, and Rosehill Jenny at the age of three.
As for Zapatio, she won the 1100-meter Laurel Oak Toy Show Quality Race for Fillies and Mares, led by Rachel King and supervised by James Cummings.
The four-year-old Mahra did not face difficulty in overcoming her competition, as she beat Jamaya by two and three quarters of length, on the soft floor, and the winner has 4 victories out of 9 participations.
