This Sunday, shortly after 8 p.m., the Lens and Harnes firefighters were called out for an accident on the mining ring road (A21), at the “CH Lens” exit in the Aix-Noulette – Douai direction. On site, emergency services found a single car, having collided head-on with the guardrail located between the exit ramp and the right lane of the A21. At the wheel, a seriously injured 26-year-old girl.
The twelve firefighters had to extricate the victim before being able to medicalize him thanks to the Lens SMUR. In absolute emergency, the young woman – whose vital prognosis is in jeopardy – was transported to the Lens hospital center.
The accident led to the closure of the “CH Lens” exit, as well as the closure of one of the two traffic lanes of the mining ring road while emergency services intervened. The reasons for the accident were not known this Sunday evening.
