A Dream Collaboration: Clive from Final Fantasy XVI in Kingdom Hearts 4

Kingdom Hearts fans hope Kingdom Hearts 4 brings back classic Final Fantasy characters like Clive from Final Fantasy 16. Square Enix should ensure Clive’s character remains consistent when crossing over into Kingdom Hearts 4. Clive’s kindness and moral compass make him a perfect example of Sora’s growth in Kingdom Hearts 4. Many players are hoping that Kingdom Hearts 4 will not only return to include more classic Final Fantasy the way previous titles have. However, with the success of Final Fantasy XVI, more players are hoping that new protagonist Clive will appear in the next title to fight alongside Sora and his friends. With Clive as a potential inclusion in Kingdom Hearts 4, Square Enix needs to be careful to make sure the character remains consistent from his original outing to any crossover appearances. In Clive’s case, this will help him connect well with Sora, as it means sticking to the character’s stance where he does his best to find the best outcome for everyone he interacts with. Related: Sora and Riku can learn a lot in Kingdom Hearts 4 from Clive and Joshua from Final Fantasy 16 Clive’s kindness is his greatest asset One of the best things Clive does in Final Fantasy 16 is the way he handles every situation as one of the best who find them in the realm of Valisthea. This is seen from the way he treats those who serve under him when he first becomes a Joshua Shield, all the way to the way he fights to protect and win freedom for the Final Fantasy XVI’s Magic Brand owners. As the process of making each side order will also show, Clive has little trouble lending a hand to anyone who asks, often giving even the cleverest of villains the suspicion. For the sake of Final Fantasy XVI, this makes controlling Clive a strong fantasy in many ways. Not only is he powerful enough to slay many dragons and face godlike beings, but he is able to make the most morally correct decision and see it through to the end. In a way, this isn’t too different from Sora in Kingdom Hearts, no matter how much he fumbles or plays directly into the villain’s plans, he still manages to win the day while sticking to his own convictions. Clive as a model for Sora’s growth in Kingdom Hearts 4 While not much time has actually passed in the Kingdom Hearts series, from the first game to the upcoming fourth main title, Sora has had experiences throughout her life. However, as much as he’s grown on this journey, it’s been mostly through his own means, sticking to what has always made him tick without much guidance outside of Yen Sid or Mickey in an effort to keep him on the path of light. So, Clive’s appearance in Kingdom Hearts 4 might finally give Sora a model or framework to build his growth around. Most importantly, this means that Clive continuing to be the kind, caring man he has been for the eighteen years that have passed throughout Final Fantasy XVI’s story might be exactly the example Sora needs. Until Kingdom Hearts 4, most of the adults Sora met were somewhat tired or lost their way at some point on the Path of Darkness. This includes former 13 members of the Organization such as Axel or adults who have passed the Traveler such as Terra and Aqua. What Sora needs most from Clive is an example of someone who constantly struggles once morest insurmountable odds and even a racist slave-owning world, but still comes out of the other extreme happily showing kindness to everyone he can. This, of course, doesn’t mean that Clive isn’t more than willing to rant regarding Final Fantasy XVI’s Hugo Kupka when they fight, which compares well with how Sora exchanges harsh words with his enemies. So, there are worse options for emulating Sora when Kingdom Hearts 4 grows up than Clive, and there are a few Final Fantasy characters that would be better among the more common choices. Kingdom Hearts is currently in development by Square Enix. MORE: Kingdom Hearts 4 can learn from breaking the limit in Final Fantasy 16
