According to the agency, Alemenko said, “One of the causes of eating behavior disorder is a decrease in the feeling of thirst that usually appears in people who suffer from excess weight, where instead of feeling thirsty they feel hungry.” “People who are overweight and have eating disorders may not feel thirsty,” he said. Instead of wanting to drink water, they may show a desire to eat something. And when a person begins to quench hunger instead of quenching thirst, he will gain more weight.”
The Russian expert confirms, “In order not to gain weight due to this disorder, a certain amount of fluid must be drunk daily. It is important to adhere to the drinking regimen in order to reduce the effect of the so-called subcortical appetite; that appear instead of thirst. And the best thing is to drink 30 milligrams per kilogram of body weight, to curb the desire to eat something and thus gain weight.”
