A disease that affects children after Corona

Elaf from Beirut: The British newspaper, “The Sun”, reported that doctors still failed to monitor a fatal case, sometimes affecting children following they were infected with the Corona virus.

Parents warned of a difficult illness that afflicts their children, weeks following they recovered from the Corona virus.

This condition is called “multiple inflammatory syndrome”, and it is extremely rare, occurring in less than 1 percent of children who contract the virus.

1 to 5 out of 100,000 children who develop this syndrome will need hospital treatment.

But the exciting thing is that healthy children develop this health problem, regarding 4-6 weeks following infection with the virus.

Because the symptoms of this syndrome can be similar to other health problems, doctors fail to detect them.

Symptoms include prolonged fever, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, rashes all over the body, and bloodshot eyes, among others.

Despite the efforts of health authorities, misdiagnosis unfortunately occurs.

Baby Cooper Hayton has fallen seriously ill, as a result of the rare side effects of the virus.

Cooper’s high temperature persisted, he developed rashes on his body, his face was swollen and he had deep red lips and bloodshot eyes.

Fortunately, Cooper recovered following three nights of antibiotics, another 24 hours of immunoglobulin and three nights of steroids to suppress the immune system in the hospital.

Children in intensive care with this condition can still experience brain fog, fatigue, and changes in appetite.
