Today, on the occasion of Defense Day on 6th September, a dignified ceremony of changing of the guards was held at the mausoleum of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi.
PAF Asghar Khan Academy Air Officer Commanding Air Vice Marshal Ghazanfar Latif was the chief guest of the event. Pakistan Air Force cadets took over the duties of guards at Mazar-i-Quaid.
57 cadets including 7 women participated in the changing of guards ceremony. Chief guest Air Vice Marshal Ghazanfar Latif laid a wreath at the Quaid’s mausoleum on this occasion, recited Fatiha and wrote his comments in the guest book.
Speaking at the changing of guards ceremony at Mazar-i-Quaid, Chief Guest Air Vice Marshal Ghazanfar Latif said that our soldiers have been making numerous sacrifices for national defense.
He said that our forces have guarded the borders with heart and soul, today is the day in the name of our martyrs and Ghazis. Air Vice Marshal Ghazanfar Latif says that we have inherited the value of freedom and love for the country, behind every victory of the Pakistan Army there are the prayers of the nation.
He says that the battle of September 6 is an unprecedented achievement, today is the name of the martyrs because of which we are breathing. Air Vice Marshal Ghazanfar Latif further said that today is the day of renewal of pledge, to take Pakistan to the height of development and stability.
He also said in his address that Pakistan is built to last, no power in the world can destroy Pakistan.
