On March 2, 2022, the French said goodbye to Jean-Pierre Pernaut. That day, the presenter of 13 Hours of TF1 breathed his last following battling lung cancer. And nearly a year following his death, TMC wanted to pay him a new tribute by broadcasting this Friday, February 24, a new documentary, entitled Jean-Pierre Pernaut, one year already. A program in which many personalities who have rubbed shoulders with the journalist have agreed to confide in their relationship. Among them, viewers were able to find Karine Le Marchandwho knew the presenter very well even though they did not work on the same channel.
Indeed, the host of L’Amour est dans le pré revealed that she had met Jean-Pierre Pernaut and his wife Nathalie Marquay in a holiday club in the early 2000s. The beginning of a beautiful and long friendship . “We never let go We have gone on vacation together many times”explained Karine Le Marchand in the documentary, before delivering surprising secrets regarding her friend: “Jean-Pierre had a pretty detestable lifestyle. He was greedy, he liked good wine and he smoked like a fireman. He did not play sports, he was sedentary and stressed”. A way of life which was particularly difficult to bear for Nathalie Marquay according to the host of M6. “That was a lot for a wife who loves her husband and who knows very well that with the age difference, there will be health problems if he does not manage certain things so she was moaning a lot. He didn’t give a damn. He continued. He was truly an epicurean”she continued.

Present in the life of Jean-Pierre Pernaut until the last moments, Karine Le Marchand, however, did not fail to salute the memory of his friend. “He was a wonderful man, a wonderful father and a wonderful husband. A wonderful friend. People who have character and who shout when they are not happy, for me, that’s pretty good. He was a man of extreme kindness and extreme generosity, of real simplicity”, she concluded with emotion. A man who will have deeply marked all those who met him.
