Mehwish Javed from Islamabad is a dentist but her love of colors has made her a painter.
Dr Mehwish Javed started painting colors 12 years ago when his sister gave him Rs 12,000 and told him to show his art to the world. At that time Mehwish started his art called ‘Alwan Al Haya’ (Colors of Life).

She says that this work was difficult for her in the beginning because her children were small and it was difficult for them to leave the house.
‘I had to participate in an exhibition for which I also had to do the branding of my product, but later some people bought the product from them inline which made it easier for them.’

She says that she learned the job with the help of her friends, as initially she had no knowledge of graphic designing. But now she does all her designing on the computer and also does printing on various shirts including sheets and shirts.
Mehwish Javed has so far printed the poems of many famous poets including Allama Iqbal, Mohsin Naqvi, Ahmed Faraz, due to which she has received a lot of appreciation. Apart from this, she also specializes in various carvings on pots and tea kettles.
About the work and labor involved in this work, she says, ‘It takes about two to three days to screen print a single sheet, so two days a week printing work and the rest of the time working as a dentist in a college. I do A daughter and two sons also help me in this work.’
