A Moroccan parliamentary delegation is currently on a working visit to the United Kingdom. The delegation was invited by Heather Wheeler, the president of the Moroccan-United Kingdom parliamentary friendship group in the British House of Commons. The visit is an opportunity to strengthen the distinguished parliamentary relations between the two countries and welcome a new phase of cooperation, dialogue, and economic partnership. The delegation held important meetings with several figures, including Nigel Evans, the Deputy Speaker of the British House of Commons, and Ambassador Stephen Hickey, the UK Foreign Office Director for MENA. The meetings underscored the importance of parliamentary visits between the two legislative institutions to exchange expertise and promote communication and joint coordination at international multilateral events. The Moroccan parliamentary delegation also proposed the creation of a Parliamentary Forum between Morocco and the United Kingdom to monitor and support important government projects and promote bilateral relations. The delegation includes MP Sahar Abdouh, President of the Morocco-UK Parliamentary Friendship Group, MP Zaina Idhali, Deputy Speaker of the House, and Jalila Morsli, the president of the Morocco-UK friendship group in the House of Councillors. The delegation also plans to meet with members of the parliamentary group on women and the Mayor of Westminster of Moroccan origin, Hamza Taouzzale, and visit the seat of the British Parliament and attend a plenary session with the Prime Minister at the British House of Commons.

Rabat – A Moroccan parliamentary delegation is currently making a working visit to the United Kingdom, at the invitation of the president of the Morocco-United Kingdom parliamentary friendship group in the British House of Commons, Heather Wheeler.
During this visit, the parliamentary delegation held a series of important meetings with the Deputy Speaker of the British House of Commons, Nigel Evans, the member of the European Affairs Committee of the British House of Lords, Lord Jeremy Purvis, international campaigner for women’s and children’s rights and international peace and security, Baroness Mary Goudie; and UK Foreign Office Director for MENA, Ambassador Stephen Hickey, Parliament said in a statement.
These meetings were an opportunity to underline the distinguished parliamentary relations uniting the legislative institutions of the two countries and to welcome the inauguration by the two Kingdoms of a new phase of cooperation, dialogue and economic partnership, specifies the same source, adding that the members of the parliamentary delegation also stressed the importance of carrying out parliamentary visits between the two legislative institutions, in order to exchange expertise and share experiences, while strengthening communication and joint coordination at international multilateral events in which the parliaments of both countries participate.
The Moroccan parliamentary delegation also highlighted the various joint government projects and activities, which are now supervised by bilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the Strategic Dialogue launched in 2018 and the Business Dialogue launched in 2020. During the various meetings, it was proposed the creation of a Parliamentary Forum between Morocco and the United Kingdom, which would serve as a framework for parliamentary cooperation to monitor and support the most important government projects between the two countries and to promote relations bilateral.
The delegation is also expected to hold meetings with members of the parliamentary group on women and the mayor of Westminster of Moroccan origin, Hamza Taouzzale, in addition to visiting the seat of the British Parliament and attending the plenary session with the Prime Minister at the British House of Commons.
