Square Enix announced the release of update 6.4 of Final Fantasy XIV Onlinetitled “The Dark Throne”, on May 23.

Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida has revealed this date through a new trailer offering an overview of the upcoming update. Among other things, players will be able to start new epic quests and face a thousand dangers in a new dungeon and challenge. Other new features were also unveiled: Crystalline Conflict and Frontline PvP updates, improvements to Island Bliss with the new function of adding garden furniture, as well as a preview of the next special dungeons. planned for the 6.45 update.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of the contents of the 6.4 update:

• New Main Scenario Quests : a new epic chapter will be added to the frame of the main scenario.
• New Raid Series – Pandaemonium Paradise: this dantesque arc will end in a timeless arduous struggle between the human and the divine.
• New instanced dungeon – Haam Island : This challenging new instance will test the endurance of every Warrior of Light.
• New challenge – The Chair of the Exile : On the Scarlet Moon, adventurers will have to cross swords with General Golbez in this brand new challenge on normal and extreme difficulty
• New unreal challenge : this new version of the confrontation against Zurvan will take place in the containment unit Z1P9 (unreal).
• New side quests : the “Tataru Tarufacture” will definitely not stop talking about it.
• Reinforcement System (Update): the reinforcement system will be extended to part of the instances of the epic Stormblood™ : “The Sea of ​​Sirens’ Song”, “The Strength of Bardam”, “Doma Castle”, “Castrum Abania” and “Ala Mhigo”. They can thus be completed using a team of allied NPCs.
• Sea fishing (updated): deep-sea fishing routes have been added to the delight of deep-sea enthusiasts. Ambition will now head for Muni and the Ruby Sea.
• Island Bliss (Update): the development of this new little corner of paradise will continue with, in particular, the possibility of installing garden furniture, as well as the arrival of new development objectives, ranks of happiness, seedlings to plant and animals to raise.
• PvP Updates:
  • Crystalline Conflict : Season 4 of “Series Thresholds” and Season 7 of “Crystalline Conflict” will begin in Update 6.4.
  • Forehead : Adjustments will be made to the rules for the “Fields of Glory (Icebreaker)” mission. A new UI element will also be added to display mission duration and results.
• Other additions : Update 6.4 will introduce a series of new features, including a new type of Allagan tomestone and improvements to the sales table. Players will also have the ability to display job icons in the log window and nameplate, and will now be able to apply mirages to Scholar job fairies.

Naoki Yoshida also shared several things about Update 6.45, such as:

• Blue Mage (Update): this restricted job, will see its maximum level increased to 80. New spells, exclusive equipment and of course, ever more formidable enemies to face in the arena of the Grand Masquerade will arrive.
• New Branching Dungeon – Mount Rokkon : this instanced content is designed to be done solo or in a team of up to 4 players, with a level of difficulty adapted to the number of participants.
• New Alternate Dungeon – Mount Rokkon : this type of high difficulty instance for teams of 4 players remains very similar to the branching dungeon, but has a predefined path. The alternative dungeons include two levels of difficulty (normal and sadistic) with very specific rules and characteristics.
• New side quests: the gentleman detective will continue his incredible adventures in the series of eponymous quests “Hildibrand, the return”.

• New Legendary Weapon Saga – Manderville Weapons : Godbert Manderville, the strongest goldsmith in Eorzea, will not skimp on the elbow grease (not only) to sublimate the Manderville arms, the heritage of his illustrious ancestor. After a few disputes with the blacksmith Gerolt, settled around… several glasses, the improvement process can start again!

• New Legendary Tool Saga – The Tools of Wonders : the improvement of these incredible tools born of the improbable collaboration between the Halle du Juste and the legendary blacksmith Grenoldt will continue to the delight of experienced craftsmen.
