An employee of a Kentucky Fried Chicken in Saint Louis, Missouri was hospitalized Monday night following a customer shot him because he was upset the restaurant ran out of corn, police say.
According to ABC News, the shooting unfolded Monday night in the city’s Central West End as the customer placed his order at the drive-thru.
The customer reportedly got upset and threatened the employees when told the company was out of corn. Police said when he approached the restaurant’s drive-thru window, the man pulled out a handgun.

Hoping to try and calm down the threatening customer, an employee came out to speak to the driver. When he came back inside the building, he told his colleagues that the client had shot him.
The driver fled and has yet to be arrested.
The victim was hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
