The Police Department of Xylokastro-Eurostini, dismantled a criminal organization that committed thefts in houses in areas of Corinthia. One person was arrested for the case, while two other people and his unknown accomplices are included in the case file.
It all started on the morning of Thursday (7/11/2024), when patrolling policemen of the Xylokastro-Eurostini Police Department, in cooperation with policemen of the Crime Prevention and Suppression Team (OPKE) of Corinth, tried with the use of sound signals and indications, to stop a vehicle, in which a 37-year-old man was riding Greek. The perpetrator, when he realized the presence of the police, developed excessive speed and performed dangerous maneuvers, managing to temporarily escape control.
The police mobilization was immediate and the 37-year-old was located and arrested in Megara, by police officers of the Megara Police Department. A mobile phone and the sum of 500 euros were found in his possession and confiscated.
A case file was filed against the 37-year-old arrested for criminal organization, distinguished cases of theft and attempted theft, dangerous driving and recklessness, which also includes two people and his unknown accomplices.
As for the timing of the dislocation, after a police investigation conducted by the Xylokastro-Eurostini Police Department, utilizing appropriate and combined evidence, as well as the results of physical and technical methods, it emerged that, during the period from 18.10.2024 to 7.11 .2024, the above formed a criminal organization with the purpose of committing thefts in houses in areas of the municipality of Xylokastro-Eurostini.
In particular, they had committed a total of two cases of attempted thefts in homes, as well as six cases of thefts in homes, where they had removed, among other things, money, jewelry and household appliances, thus obtaining an illegal financial benefit, which exceeds 30,000 euros. Furthermore, to facilitate their actions, they used hired vehicles to make the authorities’ investigation more difficult.
The arrested person will be prosecuted, while the police investigation and the preliminary investigation work are continued by the Police Department of Xylokastro-Eurostini, in order to verify their possible participation in the commission of other similar crimes and the identification of their unknown accomplices.
