A course on Kanye West will be offered at Concordia University next fall

Who would’ve believed that! A professor from Concordia University has had the green light to offer next fall a course devoted to none other than … Kanye West (or Kim Kardashian’s ex).

Kanye vs. Ye: Genius by Design. This is the title of the course given this fall by Yassin Alsalman, a Montreal professor and rapper of Iraqi origin known as Narcy.

“I want to bring something new and fresh to students. The opportunity to bring more incredible guests to the University and discuss the world through the prism of one of the most influential artists of our generation”, writes the professor on his Instagram account.

The professor assures that the course will not only focus on the American artist, but also on themes such as creativity, the responsibility of artists, fame as well as mental health.

Kanye West is not the first artist to whom Narcy devotes a course. Since joining Concordia, he has taught classes on Lauryn Hill, A Tribe Called Quest (ATCQ) and Black Star.

A maximum of 200 students will be able to enroll in the course Kanye vs. Ye: Genius by Design.
