Independence activists from “Nazione” symbolically walled up the entrance to the France Travail premises in Bastia (Haute-Corse) on Saturday. They call into question the employment policy pursued by the institution, which according to them would be a “real institutional relay of the “decorsification of jobs”.

This Saturday, a press conference organized by the independence party in front of the France Travail premises in Bastia, made it possible to denounce “the presence of assets from outside the island in all economic sectors.”

In a text read by its spokesperson, Jean-Philippe Antolini, “Nazione” mentioned “a massive influx particularly visible in all the major brands established in Corsica and for all management and management positions”. This text particularly targeted continentals, “attracted by the sun, the beaches and, a new development, by the safety in our streets”.

Jobs under threat

In 30 years, “we have had a 42% increase in the population”, underlines the spokesperson, affirming that “no state in the world could accept such growth due solely to migratory flows.” For nationalists, France Travail (formerly Pôle emploi) favors “settlement colonization” in the face of which Nazione demands “priority in hiring for Corsicans”.

“Otherwise, we will intervene with our means by creating the conditions for mobilization against colonial practices,” warned the independence movement, which is not their first intervention on the subject, occupying the hall of the Leroy-Merlin store in Ajaccio. In August, Nazione also presented during the 42nd Corte International Days his project to include the island on the UN list of territories to be decolonized.
