At approximately 11:00 a.m. yesterday, the calm of the Arsenal urban development, Caña de Azúcar parish, Mario Briceño Iragorry (MBI) municipality of Aragua state, was interrupted following the surprising discovery of a male corpse in an apparent state of decomposition, floating in the canal where the sewage from the area converges.
The team covering the news from El Periodiquito went to the scene to collect testimonies from residents and passers-by, who reported that the lifeless body was found in this canal regarding 200 meters from the Arsenal clinic, located on Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Avenue.
Once the residents of the area noticed the presence of this body in the canal, they informed the officers of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and the Homicide Brigade of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (CICPC), who went to the scene of the incident to inspect the body; interview neighbors in the area, carry out a planimetric survey and other investigations in relation to the event that will allow in the short term to identify the deceased and the cause of death.
It was also learned that due to the intricate nature of the site where the body was located, the field work of the forensic experts of the detective body was difficult, the presence of commissions from the Aragua Fire Department and Civil Protection of MBI was also necessary, who, using rescue tactics, quickly supported the recovery of the human remains that were later taken to the morgue of the National Service of Medicine and Forensic Sciences (Senamecf) of the Cicpc Maracay Delegation.
Regarding the identification of this body, at the time of going to press it was only known that it was an elderly man with white skin, thin build, thick hair, large eyes and thin lips, approximately one meter seventy-five centimeters tall, who was wearing a navy blue jumpsuit.
