Hussein Fahmy, star of the “An Artist’s Journey” session on the second day of the festival

The second day of the Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth, whose activities are hosted by VOX Cinemas in City Center Al Zahia, witnessed the signing of a joint cooperation agreement by Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the Fann Foundation, Festival Director and artist Hussein Fahmy, President of the Cairo International Film Festival. With the aim of enhancing cooperation and coordination and consolidating the partnership between the two festivals to raise the quality of their activities and their implementation on the ground, in addition to exchanging expertise and experiences between them, especially in the artistic fields.

At the same time, Egyptian artist Hussein Fahmy was a guest at the “An Artist’s Journey” session, which recalled the beginnings of his artistic career and his entry into the halls of cinema, where he started as a director before turning to acting. He said: “I spent most of my life in the halls of cinema, which attracted me with its colours, characters, and different themes, which helped me discover the magic of imagination that contributed to shaping my personality and thinking. I started my career as a director and then turned to acting following my first experience in the movie “Fire of Longing.” Which achieved remarkable success at that time.”

Fahmy stressed during the session that the success of any movie depends on its heroes, pointing out in this context that all the characters in the movie enjoy the same amount of importance and heroism, as competition among them contributes to motivating them to provide their best performance. He added: “During my professional career, I worked with many important directors in Egyptian and Arab cinema, most notably the late director Henry Barakat, the late Atef Salem, the late Ashraf Fahmy, director Sherif Arafa, and other professors from whom I gained high experience and was influenced by their directorial visions, which contributed to In refining my artistic experience, and helped me understand the nature of characters and the ways to embody them and embody them on the screen,” he described all the roles that were offered to him during his career as “good,” and at the same time called on all artists to pay attention to knowledge, reading, and following everything that is happening around them in the world, which is Which reflects positively on their work and the ways they perform the characters.

For her part, content creator Dalia Hammoud, during her participation in the discussion session “Guide to Filmmaking via iPhone,” pointed out that mobile phones have brought regarding a qualitative leap in content creation, especially in terms of filming and production processes.
