Al-Marsad Newspaper: Spine consultant Fawaz Al-Mutairi said that there must be a “pillow” for the head and another “pillow” for the legs when sleeping.

Al-Mutairi said during an interview with him on the “Ya Hala” program: “If there is no pillow for the head and pillow for the feet, then your sleep is wrong.”

He pointed out: “If you are on your side, you put the pillow between your knees, and if you are sleeping on your back, you put the pillow under your knees. Any other position is wrong.”

He explained: “A study was conducted in which the pressure of the disc and muscles were measured in various positions. If you sleep on your side with your knees flat on each other, the spine will be tilted.”

And he continued: “When you place the pillow between the knees, the thighs and legs become parallel to each other, and the back is straight.”

And he added: “If you are sleeping on your back, the pillow should be under the knees, and the knees must be bent over the pillow.”

He continued: “It is possible to buy a pillow for pregnant women that is on the letter C, so it rests on the pillow and the lower part of it is inside between the knees, and thus helps to get used to the position.”
