The owner of these treasures simply decided one day to start collecting sports and racing cars of the German brand, painted exclusively in white and no other color. Eventually his collection grew to a total of 56 cars. And all of them are now up for sale.
The White Collection will go under the hammer in Houston at RM Sotheby’s. All 56 cars will be looking for new owners “in their original condition” and with “impressively low mileage.” They are accompanied by two Porsche tractors and regarding 500 other “accessories, posters, literature, tools and rare parts” associated with the German automaker. The total cost of the “gathering” is likely to exceed $30 million.
The car collection is incredibly extensive. The auction house shared details regarding all the cars: we’re talking regarding the most expensive ones.
1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7. It is not every day that such a car with less than 51,500 km goes on sale. It is tentatively estimated at $2 million. Like all other cars in the collection, it retains its original Grand Prix White color.
The 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo S X85 is a car so rare that many have never even heard of it, let alone seen it with their own eyes. It is one of only 39 examples produced for the American market, and one of two that were ordered in Grand Prix White with beige leather trim.
A 1997 Porsche 911 GT2 is valued at $2.2 million. This car was intended for the Japanese market and came in Glacier White with black leather interior. The mileage of this example is 9400 km.
Also selling for $2.5 million is a 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.8, one of just 51 produced. The car was hardly used, as its odometer shows only 70 km.
