When these stories were published in the Iniya Udayam magazine under Nakeeran for the last one year, there was a great response from the readers. Ten years ago, Puthur’s novel ‘Jalasamadhi’ was dubbed into Sura Tamil. Sura says that the fact that Putur left before the book was released caused him a lot of trouble. ‘This book should be seen as a navati gift to the family of Puthur, one of Malayalam’s most loved writers.’

Navati came to know regarding it when his son Biju told him. As the translation was completed earlier, the book was also ready on time. Nakiran editor Nakiran Gopalan also cooperated sincerely in everything. This work is dedicated to the memory of that great writer who is no longer with us’ – Sura said. Sura is currently preparing a book with Puthur’s ‘Jalasamadhi’ and some of his best stories. It is planned to be released at the Chennai Book Fair in January 2024.

Sura, a native of Tamil Nadu, learned Malayalam on his own 46 years ago. He came close to Malayalam literature through reading. M.T. Vasudevannair, Vaikam Muhammad Basheer, M.
