A citizen reveals the story of the “Aunt France” shop, the most famous bean and falafel restaurant in Egypt, and an interview is held with its owner • Al Marsad newspaper

Al-Marsad newspaper: A citizen published a video clip that he published on the “Tik Tok” application, documenting his meeting with an Egyptian woman called “France”, the owner of a bean and falafel shop in Al-Gamaliya neighborhood in Egypt, whose character was embodied by the artist Abla Kamel in the movie My Aunt France.

The publisher of the video, Muhammad Al-Hamzani, said that the artist Abla Kamel participated in the movie “Aunt France”, and the owner of this falafel shop is called “Aunt France” and resembles Abla Kamel, who inspired her movie idea.

During the video, the lady explained, I am my original French aunt, and since I was 7 years old, I have been here in this shop, although my father traded in fruits, but I was working in this shop.

She continued, “My husband passed away and left me 5 children whom I raised and taught. I did not obtain any educational certificate, but I helped my sons obtain it, and my youngest son “Mahmoud” works with me in this shop, where I have been working for more than 30 years.

At the end of the video, my aunt France presented the citizen with a famous Egyptian dish “omelette” consisting of “egg mixed with falafel”.
