Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN)– A woman gave birth to a healthy baby in a toilet on a Frontier Airlines flight, according to a statement posted by the airline on its Facebook page.
The traveler began preterm labor during her flight from Denver to Orlando, according to the publication on May 17.
The host, Diana Giraldo, helped her get to the bathroom and give birth as well.
In a statement, Captain Chris Nye said the plane diverted to Pensacola International Airport, Florida, and then continued on to Orlando following the mother and child managed to land with the help of medical staff.
“The crew did a really great job,” Nye said in a comment posted on Frontier Lines’ Facebook page.
He added, “It was a good job.. I was delighted to see all the crew working together to have a new baby on board!”
Although the name and gender of the child were not revealed, Frontier Airlines announced his middle name, Sky, meaning the sky, due to the unusual circumstances accompanying his birth.
And this child is not the only one who has been born in the air in recent years.
In May 2021, a woman went into labor on a flight from Salt Lake City to Honolulu.
The flight attendant did not need to help deliver the baby, as a doctor and three nurses from the neonatal intensive care unit were on board.
It is known that there are many beautiful privileges that a child born on a flight gets.
And in 2016, the baby girl Haven was born on a Cebu Pacific flight from Dubai to the Philippine capital, Manila.
And the Philippine airline gave her a million miles, which she can share with her family.
